Life of Peace
WELCOME!! If you are a guest with us here at Peace Church, welcome! Our prayer is that you find our family of faith warm and welcoming and that you consider joining us again soon. Below are announcements about the many ways we are involved in our community and how we seek to bless it. If you have any questions or want to get involved in anything you read about below, don’t hesitate to ask me or call or text my cell phone at (936) 520-7711. And if there is ever anything at all we can do for you, please just ask. Thanks so much for joining us today! Blessings In Christ, Scott Cummings, Pastor
Mosaic Reminders! First, if you come in late or early and worship is going on, feel free to come on in and go back to a back Sunday School room or just come sit in the cushy arm chairs in the back of the sanctuary. Everyone else, please try and leave those chairs open for early or late-comers and guests! Second, please remind your older children that the nursery is for ages 4 and under during worship. I know the new toys look really fun, but we must only have volunteers who are 13 years and older, adults, and young children in there during worship times. Also, BE CAREFUL WITH SPILLS, SINCE THE FLOOR IS SLICK WHEN WET! Thanks!
PeaceKids Sunday School! We have TWO classes for kids & youth: PreK - 4th grade, and 5th - 12th grade. Elementary Class meets in the larger classroom and the Youth Class meets in the very back room at Mosaic. Your kids will love it and YOU’LL love one of our adult classes below!
Adult Acts Class: The Adult Acts class is studying the book “Fruit of the Spirit: 48 Bible Studies for Individuals or Groups” by Phyllis J. Le Peau, Jack Kuhatschek, Jacalyn Eyre & Stephen Eyre. All are welcome to join the class (Sundays from 10:10 - 11:00) in the sanctuary at Mosaic.
Bible Study Class: The Adult Bible Study Class is reading the book of 1 Samuel. Come join us after the first service! We meet in the kitchen area behind the black curtain.
“APP” SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS: Join the “APP” Class, as in “application”! We’ll look at scriptures from the sermon each week and talk about how to apply them to our lives. Pastor Scott Cummings leads it, so you can just show up! Bring your kids to their classes and enjoy studying God’s Word! Join us on Sunday mornings at 10:15AM in the office of Mosaic.
Weeknight Small Group: The Weeknight Small Group has resumed its normal schedule of meeting every other week. Someone hosts the small group at their home, everyone gathers for dinner (hosts provide the main dish, others bring sides, dessert, etc.) and then have a Bible study based on the sermon scriptures from the Sunday before. All are welcome! The next small group meeting is Tuesday, February 25th, hosted by Carl & Trudi Peterson, whose address is in the church directory. If you are interested in attending or hosting, let Pastor Scott know!
Tentative Team Meetings: Outreach: Monday, March 2nd at 6:30pm at the Croix’s home. Session: Sunday, March 15th at 12:45pm at Mosaic. Cong. Care Team: Sunday, Apr. 5th at 12:45pm at Mosaic. Future meetings will be announced.

Sunday, Mar. 1 - Discussion and Games at the office, 5-7 p.m. All youth are invited to attend our events! Let Pastor Scott know if you can make it!
Facility Town Hall Meeting! Join us Sunday, March 1st, at 10:10am (instead of adult Sunday School) in the sanctuary to hear about research and current options for our worship and office space. The Session (board of the church) needs the input from ALL members and regular attenders through this meeting and a survey available on March 1st to make a decision about where we will worship and have the church office when our time at Mosaic is up in June.
New Sermon Series - Easter People: The story of the days leading up to Easter is filled with people, real people that were really involved in the events that would change the world forever. They all had their part to play. The Bible gives us a glimpse into who each of these people was and how God used them to execute his plan for salvation for all. We’ll dive into each of these characters in the greatest story ever told, and maybe learn more about OUR part in that story, too. This sermon series runs from March 1st—April 4th.
No Ash Wednesday Service: Wednesday, February 26th is Ash Wednesday. We will not have a worship service but Pastor Scott is happy to deliver ashes and pray with anyone by request. Contact Pastor Scott and schedule a time with him to stop by.
ChristTogether Night of Prayer: Mark your calendars now for a night of prayer & training with our ChristTogether family of churches as we prepare to study our community through survey of our neighbors. Wednesday, Feb. 26th, from 6:30—7:30pm at Revolution Church, which meets in the Lone Star Bounce Town (2620 Cullen Blvd #118, Pearland, 77581).

Golf Tournament Fundraiser 2020 - HOSTED BY PEACE FOR PEARLAND: Mark your calendar for this year’s annual charity golf tournament fundraiser on Friday, March 20th at 12 Noon at Pearland Golf Club at Country Place. This year, PEACE FOR PEARLAND, our non-profit for the arts, will be hosting the golf tournament so all donations will be given to Peace for Pearland, and NOT the church. Peace for Pearland will then be able to support church outreach activities and the building fund as well as other local nonprofits organizations. This year, Pearland Chamber Orchestra will be one of our beneficiaries. This event is our ONLY FUNDRAISER for the year so we need everyone’s participation! For more information, contact Jade, Office Manager & Golf Tournament Chair.
WE NEED GOLFERS AND SPONSORS! If you know any golfers, please share information about our tournament so they can come join the fun! For our golfers, there will be a Hole-In-One contest offered by the golf course to win $20,000 that all golfers will be able to participate in. Regular Golfer Fees are $135 per golfer & $540 per team. Golfers can also register & pay online at www.peaceforpearland.org/golf_tournament. Wednesday, February 19th was the 30 day mark until the tournament! Please make contact with potential sponsors as soon as possible. Right now there are 2 Hole & Event Sponsors and 7 registered golfer teams. Our goal is to have at least 20 teams so reach out to potential or past golfers as well! Please take sponsor/golfer packets that are available at the church or online and share the word with anyone who would love to participate as a golfer and/or sponsor!
Future Golf Tournament Volunteer Meetings: Sundays, February 23rd, March 8th & March 15th all at 12:45om at Mosaic. Please mark your calendars! We will need volunteers so please consider helping in any way. Volunteer sign up sheets will be posted on the bulletin board soon.
GT Raffle Tickets Blue Envelopes: We have raffle tickets ready for sale or people can purchase tickets online on our website (www.peaceforpearland.org/golf_tournament). Raffle ticket holders do not have to be present to win. This year, we will have a Smart TV, BBQ Pit, Wine Tasting Party for 20 at Total Wine, and much more!! After you have sold your tickets, you can turn your blue envelopes with monies and top ticket stubs in with the Offering or the Blue Office Box.
GT Fundraising Challenge: As Golf Tournament Chair, Jade is issuing a challenge for all Peace members/visitors to bring in an additional golfer and/or event/hole sponsor for this year’s tournament. Hole sponsors do not have to be businesses. ANYONE can sponsor a hole - a Sunday School class, a civic club, a group of friends, etc. We’ve also had individuals and families sponsor a hole before. Hole sponsorships are $300. Higher level event sponsorships are available at the $500, $1000 & $1500 levels with various benefits. Everyone knows someone… invite them to join us in supporting our community!
